Flexible benefits could help ease workplace stress
More people cite their partner as a source of stress than their boss, new research has revealed.
Of those questioned, 58 per cent responded by saying their partner or spouse was a contributor to the stress they feel, while only 43 per cent felt their boss was a cause.
The study was undertaken on behalf of the Philips Health & Well-being Index and could be a sign that a flexible approach to employee benefits packages is helping build work relationships.
Ann McCracken, chair of the International Stress Management Association UK (ISMAUK), said having a flexible attitude to all relationships is the first way to solving sources of conflict.
"Stress is the result of too much pressure and many people have lots of pressures which come from themselves, others and events over which they have or appear to have little control," she added.
The research compared UK attitudes to workplace pressure to the US, where only 28 per cent of people consider their boss to be a source of stress.
