Companies could attract employees from further away with flexible benefits
Company bosses will be able to use employee benefits packages to attract top workers from a much wider geographical area thanks to a new government incentive to get people into work.
Under proposals announced yesterday (June 28th) by work and pensions secretary Iain Duncan Smith, those who are struggling to find work in saturated employment zones will be offered incentives to move to areas of the UK where opportunities are more abundant.
This could mean that employers will potentially be able to pick from the most qualified out of work staff in the UK and not have to worry about relocation costs.
Phil Flaxton, chief executive of Work Wise UK, praised the work of the coalition government and said the move would have benefits for the British economy.
"We''ve got to get the economy moving, we''ve got to keep unemployment down, and we''ve got to make it competitive on a global stage," he added.
In the current UK job market, there are 5.2 unemployed people for every vacancy.
