Flexible benefits needed for ''stressed workers''
Overworked employees may require more flexible benefits, as new figures reveal that many workers do not take their lunch break.
Ben Willmott, senior public policy advisor for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, said that staff regularly working through their break should serve as a wake-up call for employers.
"It''s also whether people are working excessive hours, whether they are staying on too long, whether they are in touch with work over the weekend or sending emails in the middle of the night," he said.
Mr Willmott said these were all signs that people are under too much pressure and employers should be on the lookout for those who are not coping.
Figures from the Chartered Institute of Physiotherapy indicated that one in four UK employees regularly work all day without taking a rest.
Around one-third of staff regularly work through their lunch break, while 23 per cent take no time off for lunch at all.
