Medical centre uses reward scheme to boost employee engagement

A US university medical centre has adopted an employee benefits scheme in a bid to boost employee engagement, the Northern Ohio News-Herald reports.

Lou Ann Marx, marketing manager at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Chardon, said that her firm had established an employee benefits and employee engagement committee.

The committee is formed of workers from each department and they meet to establish what best ways to boost employee engagement throughout the organisation.

She told the paper: "Employees get extremely involved in the process. An employee who goes above and beyond is selected each month…and voted on by their peers. That''s been successful."

Ms Marx also said that the centre hosts regular get-togethers such as employee picnics and brunches were the work of employees can be recognised.

A recent survey of company chief executives in the UK by PricewaterhouseCoopers showed that almost two-thirds (65 per cent) said they planned to increase investment in employee engagement and retention.ADNFCR-2825-ID-19640672-ADNFCR
